TPS is experienced in leading designs with complex organisations, complex procurement routes and complex contracts including PFI, framework, open book and cost recovery. We are used to leading multi-disciplined teams on projects from £500k to £100m and clients include the MoD, NOMS, SPS, LU and Network Rail. This puts us in an ideal position to take the design lead with in-house design consulting and/or partnering with other designers and signatory architects.
The role of lead designer is to establish the aesthetic vocabulary and principles, which will inform and inspire every aspect of the project, as well as setting the technical standards to which the design should aspire. It is our responsibility to ensure the client’s objectives and drivers are reflected in the design: by focusing on patient security and dignity, for a secure healthcare unit, for example, or expressing the joy of learning through school architecture.
