Partnership delivers new stadium for Harlow Town football club
Schal, the project management arm of TPS, has played a key role in the successful delivery of a new community football stadium at Barrows Farm, Harlow.
Part of the £42m Harlow Gateway initiative, it was recently officially handed over to Harlow Town FC by local MP Bill Rammell. The stadium, which is a centrepiece for the Harlow Gateway regeneration scheme, not only provides a welcome new home for Harlow Town FC but also facilities for the whole community.
Working in close collaboration with the numerous stakeholders, Schal managed the project from its early design stages right through to handover. Schal is also project managing the new leisure centre, another key project in the Harlow Gateway scheme.
The impressive new ground features a main stand with seating and a covered stand for up to 3,000 spectators, a bar and conference facilities. The new stadium will play a major role in supporting the Harlow Hawks’ bid to play Conference-level football.
“This new stadium gives Harlow a real boost, both in terms of marking a new chapter in the history of Harlow Town FC and by providing a great new facility for the community to use and enjoy,” said a Harlow Gateway spokesperson. “The Harlow Gateway vision is about creating new opportunities for people in Harlow. The completion of this superb new facility is a significant achievement for the Gateway partnership.”
David Taylor, a senior project manager at Schal said: “It is good to see the hard work put in by all the partners rewarded. This is another significant step forward for the project and for Harlow.”
