Carillion’s design management and consultancy practice TPS is delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Whyte as its new Director of Security Consulting and Explosives Effects. He joins TPS from Pilgrims Group, one of the UK’s leading security risk management consultancies, where he was director of special operations, and more recently, director of planning, responsible for the delivery of security consultancy and risk management services to corporations operating in high risk areas of the Middle East and West Africa.

Mark served for 20 years in the British Army Intelligence Corps in a variety of security, intelligence and counter terrorism roles and his last appointment was as lieutenant colonel on the Directing Staff of the Joint Services Command and Staff courses.

Commenting on his new role, Mark said: “The TPS security and explosives effects team is one of the most highly regarded in the UK and worldwide and I am delighted to be appointed to develop the business in what is an increasingly challenging national and international security environment.”

TPS Managing Director, Shaun Carter, said: “In appointing Mark into the TPS management team, we have added considerable strength and depth to our security consultancy client offer. His considerable experience of planning and delivering innovative security solutions to a wide variety of government bodies and private sector clients will help to ensure TPS remains as one of the UK’s leading consultancies”.
