TPS Associate Director speaks at Prison Design Conference

Associate Director Andreas Alexiou appreared as a keynote speaker at this year’s Prison Planning, Design and Development Conference, providing critical insight into the factors which impact on the success of prisoner rehabilitation.
Shard now tallest UK building

The Shard, under construction at London Bridge, recently became the tallest building in the UK. TPS are are part of the consultancy team delivering the project.
National Constructing Excellence Awards 2010

Schal's Sustainability Manager Richard Johnson won the “G4C Champion Award” and was presented with his award at the formal National Constructing Excellence Awards dinner on Friday evening. The award recognises a member of the next generation who has made a positive contribution to the industry across certain areas – in Richard’s case this has been Sustainability.
The East London Line Project, a joint venture between Balfour Beatty and Carillion, won the "Project of the Year" award; TPS provided architectural and engineering design for the project and will be performing Structural Asset Management inspections.
London to Brighton Bike Ride

Way back in June seven members of TPS staff from the Croydon office took part in the annual "London to Brighton Bike Ride"; we have just learned that the total raised for the British Heart Foundation was £1207.
Muscat International Airport

Carillion Alawi and TPS have been awarded a contract by the Ministry of Transport and Communication in Oman to design and build a new air traffic control tower at Muscat International Airport, together with a number of ancillary buildings, including an air traffic and meteorology complex, a crash, fire and rescue facility, a data centre and training facilities. Work on delivering these new facilities, which form part of the expansion of Muscat International Airport, will start later this month and is scheduled for completion early in 2015.

Chilver Hall at Cranfield
"highly commended" at Wood Awards 2010

Chilver Hall, a new student accommodation block at Cranfield University completed in 2009, was Highly Commended in the Commercial and Public Access Category at the Wood Awards at the Carpenter's Hall in London on 21st October. Schal provided project management for the new building.

Schal, the Management arm of TPS has been engaged by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to assist its Construction Division in training HSE inspectors on Construction Design Management this October.
Coffee, cakes and raising cash 2010

The TPS offices at Croydon and Edinburgh enjoyed coffee and cakes and raised £589.45p for Macmillan Nurses "Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning" on September. A huge thank you to all those who contributed, particularly local caterers Simply Lunch who sponsored the Croydon event by donating the delicious consumables!
