Gatwick Airport ready for Airbus A380 services
11 April 2013
Gatwick has become "Airbus A380 ready" with the opening of a stand on Pier 6 specifically designed to handle the world's largest commercial aircraft. Emirates Airlines operated a one off A380 service in to the airport on 26th March 2013 to inaugurate the stand, pending regular services by A380 operators starting in due course.
As one of Gatwick's civil engineering framework partners, TPS provided design support for some of the taxiway and apron modifications necessary to provide access between the runway and the stand, accommodating the A380's 79.75 m (261.6 ft) wingspan - 15m wider than the Boeing 747s currently operating from the airport. In several places flood light columns and other structures were required to be moved, and the taxiway clearance lines along one section of pavement have been realigned to provide sufficient wingtip clearances, enabling the aircraft to be operated safely.

With no obvious career progression or development path for people considering a career in security consultancy, the objective of the programme was to develop our people and their skills in a structured and professional manner, tailored to the security arena.
Reg Aaron
12 February 2013
We have been greatly saddened by the death of Reg Aaron while based in Muscat. Reg joined TPS as an associate architect from Pascall + Watson in 2009 and was working with the Muscat Airport team in Oman.
In the short time he was with TPS, Reg formed some incredibly strong relationships with the team and with our customer and colleagues on the project, gaining enormous respect as the lead face of our Architects and our design on the ground for the buildings we have been working on. His dedication to his professional discipline and to his role in the project was enormous as well as being a good friend and colleague to those around him. Reg will be sorely missed by his family, friends and colleagues in the UK and Muscat to whom we offer our sincerest condolences and thoughts at this very sad time.
