Commercial Director

My commercial role helps to guide professional colleagues along a route that balances both the need to delight our customers creatively whilst making a profit for our owners.  I am motivated by the commitment of my colleagues who are always keen to see both the results and rewards arising from our creative abilities, whether this is from the design of a building or a segment of infrastructure or a consulting service. During my time in the Carillion group, the project that I most enjoyed working on was the Royal Court Theatre in London, which was a huge technical challenge successfully delivered within a constrained budget. In addition to my key activities I write academic papers and articles particularly in relation to the defence sector. Beyond work, I enjoy time with my daughter; I enjoy travel, I am a fair weather walker and cyclist, and like to meet up with my friends and family, who will occasionally sacrifice themselves to my hospitality.
