Building Surveyor

In his current role Tim delivers a wide range of services including building surveying, consultancy and management; “My role is to build strong relationships with clients and win new business for them whilst also bringing in new business for TPS.” He was attracted to TPS because of its professional approach, the opportunity to develop experience in a broad range of sectors and the chance to work with people from a diverse range of disciplines.

Working for TPS has opened up many exciting opportunities and experiences for Tim. He explains, “Through my involvement in some diverse projects, including design, construction, services and consultancy, I have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge that has proved to be invaluable.”

His proudest achievement to date is completing a contract with the MOD; “This project was a real challenge and included juggling staffing issues like terminating contracts and transferring staff under TUPE regulations, resolving asbestos problems and ensuring that a consistent service was maintained throughout the handover.”

His next move is to obtain professional accreditation with the Chartered Institute of Building and to become a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. “In five years time I want to have completed the Carillion Leadership programme as a chartered surveyor and be working towards a management promotion.”
